I ‘m John Ashbaugh and I was elected to the San Luis Obispo City Council in November 2008. I've lived in this community for over 30 years; previously I served for four years on our Planning Commission. My wife and I launched our careers in this city. We built our home and raised our family here. I was the founding Director of the San Luis Obispo County Land Conservancy, and for 20 years I was an environmental planner, most of that time as the owner of a small consulting firm in the downtown. For the last 8 years I’ve taught history.
I intend to use this website for the benefit of my constituents and anyone with an interest in the issues before the City Council.
